This weather presenter has downplayed tf out of this, he's starts by calling them showers and heavy showers, showers? Just look at those rain bands heading to the Islands it doesn't matter if the center of storm makes a direct hit or not.
Then he shows the rain totals graphic and it's 6" - 14" dependent on what part of the island you're on. The mountainous areas are getting the 14"+ falls then the mountain streams are going to turn into raging rivers taking out roads and infrastructure again.
This is not normal for Hawaii, they rarely get hurricanes, one every few years and most times they make minimal impacts. Now they're about to get hammered by more torrential rain from a tropical storm, after just being slammed a week ago by a hurricane. I hope they have the sense to see the data rather than listen to their weather reporters downplay it all.
They may have to get used to this, as I continually repeat, because the magnetosphere has weakened it's shifted the Jet Stream and changed the weather patterns for all the different regions. You also have all that heat coming off the ocean around the Galapagos Islands where that massive subterranean field of volcanoes is. What happens when you heat water on a stove? You get steam, so now translate that on a bigger scale to what's happening off the west coast of South America.
Though everything is connected even our weather patterns so it's not just the Hawaiians that are going to feel the brunt of it, and unfortunately unless they are self sufficient life is going to get very difficult for them under the current regime. I note there has been no announcements from them about aid from the damage Lala caused, I looked it up and they've been pledged $6 million in aid. To anybody with a brain cell, $6 million is fucking laughable.
