The Ancient Egyptians had a name for the personal Soul of a human too, they called this the Sahu. Ka is the generalized term for the Soul and is actually specifically speaking to the substance of the Soul. This substance is the part of the Soul that can never be destroyed as it is directly attached to the Creator. The Ancient Egyptians believed that at the end of the Great Year when all Souls were weighed against the Feather of Truth, if a Soul failed their test then the Ba (Soul's identity/consciousness) would be destroyed and removed but the Ka would merge back with the Creator, to be seeded with a brand new Ba Consciousness and Sahu.

The Sahu is the Ka but in it's personalised form, it is directly related to you. It is the aethereal part of you that will traverse both planes of existence, from the time it is created till the end of it's great cycle of 26,000 years. You will wear many physical garments but you will only have one Sahu. Though it must be remembered that not all souls are so ancient, some of course are created further into the cycle and what the Ancient Egyptians called "the Adjusters" of Maat account for this too.
