The Four Royal Stars of Persia

In ancient Persian mythology, Regulus was known as Venant or Miyan ("The Center"). It was one of the Four Royal Stars—guardians of the heavens that marked the four cardinal points and the seasons. Google Ai gave me these results: Regulus (Leo): Guardian of the North, Aldebaran (Taurus): Guardian of the East, Antares (Scorpius): Guardian of the West, Fomalhaut (Piscis Austrinus/Southern Fish: Guardian of the South.

This didn't align with the Ancient Symbolism about the Divine Tribes so I went and investigated further because the only "sources" I could get to verify Regulus as the Guardian of the North were Facebook links (not kidding). Yes Google Ai is sourcing answers from fucking FB so make sure you're always verifying the results. Anyway I asked for the Persian Text that stated Regulus was the Guardian of the North and wouldn't you know it, yeh there is conjecture about the North part. It is known in several cultures as a Guardian star but nothing verifiable about it being connected to the North.

The actual Ancient Persian Text "The Bundahishn" says that the Star Regulus of Leo is the GUARDIAN OF THE WEST

So now that we've confirmed there's been an attempt to misguide seekers of this Ancient Knowledge we can apply the correct Archetypal symbolism to the Royal Stars:

• Antares - Scorpius - Guardian of the North - Tribe of Dan - Eagle

• Fomalhaut - Piscis Austrinus - Guardian of the South - Tribe of Rueben - Winged Man

• Aldebaran - Taurus - Guardian of the East - Tribe of Ephraim - Bull

• Regulus - Leo - Guardian of the West - Tribe of Judah - Lion

On the Mazzoroth Zodiac the Tribe of Dan are also connected to Scorpio and Judah are connected to the Lion.

Tribe of Dan are also connected to the symbol of the Eagle and the Serpent.

Because of its position in the constellation Leo, Regulus is frequently called Cor Leonis (Latin) or Kardia Leontos (Greek), both meaning "Heart of the Lion".

Leo is most often identified as the Nemean Lion, a monster with impenetrable skin slain by Heracles (Hercules) as his first labour. Regulus sits at the base of the "Sickle" asterism, representing the lion's chest or heart.

In Arabian Cosmology it was called Qalb al-Asad, also meaning "Heart of the Lion"

Babylonians called it Sharru ("The King") or Lugal ("The Star of the King"), standing at the "Lion's breast".

In Indian Cosmology it is Known as Maghā ("The Mighty" or "The Bountiful"), it is the chief star of the 10th Nakshatra (lunar mansion). It is associated with the Pitris, or ancestral spirits, and symbolizes a royal throne.

Fomalhaut is the only star of the Royal Stars that is not connected to it's archetypal symbol which is winged (divine) man, but it is definitely connected to the South because of it's position in the southern sky. "Fomalhaut, the 18th brightest star in the night sky, is steeped in ancient mythology across several cultures, primarily due to its lonely position in the southern sky and its role as one of the four Royal Stars" (I'm going to keep looking into this one and see what else I can find)
