I have noticed that a lot of these "sanctuaries" and "carers" are just animal hoarders with a mental illness. There was a lady here that used to care for injured wildlife, I took an injured wallaby to her and have never felt so concerned about leaving an animal with someone to care for before. All I could see were animals in small pens and cages everywhere and they weren't injured and I didn't get a good feeling from it. My concerns were confirmed when a couple of years later she was charged with animal abuse, seems she never returned the animals to the wild, she just kept them. Now I am not saying that these people are horrible and evil, they are suffering from a mental illness that is expressed in the form of hoarding these animals. So just be mindful when you take injured wildlife to carers, I always take them to the vet now, vets know who the professional wildlife carers are.
