A river ‘died’ overnight in Zambia after an acidic waste spill at a Chinese-owned mine
As detailed by the Associated Press, investigators from the Engineering Institution of Zambia determined that an acid spill at a Chinese-owned copper mine on Feb. 18 caused around 50 million liters of waste "containing concentrated acid, dissolved solids and heavy metals" to flow into a stream that is connected to the Kafue River, which runs for over 930 miles through the heart of the country and is considered Zambia's most important waterway.
Ecuador’s state oil company, Petroecuador, declared force majeure on its Trans-Ecuadorian Pipeline System (SOTE) on March 18, 2025, following a catastrophic oil spill that began on March 13. The spill, caused by a landslide that ruptured the pipeline, has contaminated the Esmeraldas River, affecting over 500 000 residents who are now experiencing a severe water crisis.
A recent study found high levels of two potentially deadly chemicals in human urine.
The study sampled the urine of 150 people and had "detection frequencies between 60% and 100%" of chemical 6PPD and 6PPD-Q, which are rubber additives commonly used in tires.
The long-term effects of 6PPD in humans hasn't been extensively studied, but what's clear to researchers is that 6PPD's source — tire-based pollution — is a big problem.
Researchers say that deteriorating car tires and decomposing garbage are sending minute plastic fragments into the air, which may be fueling infertility, colon cancer and respiratory illnesses.
There’s long been concern about how exposure to microplastics — found in cosmetics and toothpaste and shed from food containers and clothing — can hurt humans. Growing evidence suggests that these particles smaller than a grain of rice can damage cells, trigger inflammation and disrupt the balance of bacteria in the gut.
Humans inhale and ingest these plastic chunks, with one study estimating that Americans consume 39,000 to 52,000 microplastic particles a year.
Microplastics have been detected in human placentas, lungs, liver, urine, breast milk and blood.

Tap water drunk by up to 40million Americans may be raising their risk of a rapidly growing cancer, a study suggests.
Researchers at Texas A and M University compared kidney cancer rates in 240 Texas counties to arsenic levels in the water in public and private water systems.
They found people with high levels of the toxic mineral in their water had a 22 percent higher risk of the cancer. Even low levels the FDA considers safe were linked to a 6 percent increased risk.

Did you know that more than 220 million tonnes of plastic rubbish will be generated in 2024?
5 September marks Plastic Overshoot Day, the point in the year when humanity's plastic waste surpasses the capability of waste management systems to handle the quantities produced.
Since last year, Swiss NGO Earth Action has released a Plastic Overshoot Day report and, in 2024, it has revealed that 66 per cent of the global population live in areas where plastic waste has already exceeded the local waste management capacity.

She said Aussies have been exposed to PFAS for decades and that the chemicals have been shown to contribute to a number of health problems from low birth weights to infertility.
“PFAS are bio cumulative and so the reason they are so dangerous is that the toxicity builds up and it’s very hard for your body to expel them,” she said. “They’re basically indestructible.”''

Here we go...literally no eggs in my local supermarket for the past week, luckily I live in an area with a lot of agriculture and we have a couple of chicken farms which sell at the farm gate, two are completely cage free and one has a cage free section. I do try and buy cage free, I feel too guilty eating the cage eggs now. Anyway probably just a matter of time before these local farms get "bird flu" and have to cull their flocks. Pisses me off, I love eggs and eat them nearly every day, they are a great source of protein which is no doubt why they have targeted them.
I don't feel great if I have to eat caged and always try to get free range. I love them too and eat them most days as well. The fuckers are definitely targeting them with being a great source of protein. Fucking cunts.

A number of fish have been killed in a river in County Antrim, the Department of Agriculture Environment and Rural Affairs has confirmed.
It is the latest in a series of fish kills reported across Northern Ireland in recent weeks.
In a statement, the department said that the Northern Ireland Environment Agency "received an anonymous call reporting dead fish in the Ballymoney River" at 12:50 BST on Tuesday.
Speaking to the BBC recently, Joanna Braniff from The Rivers Trust said that fish kills were being driven by a number of factors including "chemical pollution, sewage spills and discharge overflows, increased water temperatures, and low oxygen levels caused by climate change and heavy rainfall running fertilisers off fields".

We will work with businesses or organisations in order to ensure that noise is reduced and that it goes away completely.” In other words, you will allow it to continue...
This is the insidious nature of cancer, unless it happens in large clusters like this nobody questions how the person got the cancer, there's this mentality that people "just get cancer"...cancer rates are now skyrocketing but nobody joins the dots on why that is.
Notice the timing of them revealing what they've known for years, they're killing us softly and there is no way to escape it, we are breathing it in, eating it, drinking it, showering in it....the best we can do is hope that the cancer takes us quickly and we don't die a slow painful death.
